Terms of Service

By creating an account or otherwise using the Hawassa University Graduates Alumni platform ("the Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not register for or use the Platform.

The Platform is intended for graduates, current students, faculty, and staff affiliated with Hawassa University. New registrations are reviewed by our moderation team to confirm alumni status before full access is granted.

You agree to provide accurate information during registration, including graduation year, degree, and major, and to provide further documentation if requested for verification purposes.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

All members must comply with our Community Guidelines, which prohibit hate speech, harassment, political content, sexually explicit material, spam, and impersonation, among other things.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination, at our sole discretion.

You retain ownership of the content you post — profile information, posts, comments, photos, job listings, event details, and similar — but grant the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the service.

You are solely responsible for content you share and represent that you have the right to share it.

The Platform facilitates donations to alumni-organized campaigns and initiatives. Donations are voluntary and, except where required by law or stated otherwise for a specific campaign, non-refundable.

We may review donation receipts submitted for record-keeping and verification purposes. Donations are coordinated on behalf of the Hawassa University Graduates Alumni community.

Career resources, job postings, mentorship matches, and events are provided as a community service. We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party job postings, the outcome of mentorship relationships, or the availability of any event. Members participate at their own discretion.

We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, with or without prior notice. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
